Providing real time shuttle arrival times



Summary Statement

TransitScreen helped an apartment manager meet resident's request for real-time shuttle arrivals and links to Cambridge Massachusetts’s subway.

Community Challenge

Maryland-based commercial real estate firm Bozzuto approached TransitScreen to solve a transportation problem. At their new Atmark Cambridge apartment building in Cambridge, MA, residents have the option of taking a shuttle service to the subway, walking to the subway, or taking a bus. But the shuttle service was sometimes delayed by heavy traffic, and its arrival times did not always match the schedule.

Approach

TransitScreens are located in the building's main lobby.  The screens are positioned so residents can easily view live feeds for either the nearby bus, Red line, or shuttle schedule.

Insights and Results

Residents and visitors both love the screens.  The ability to track what can sometimes be unpredictable has been a big hit, in particular for Atmarks' shuttle to the Alewife "T" station.
