Our own photos are often best for telling a story about creating great places. However, there are times when you don't want everything distinguishable in your power point, brochure or report.

Luckily, there are photography blur apps out there. Applications include:

• Faces - use a blur tool to protect identities. Usually photos in pulic places are fair game, but it's a good idea to blur. Your story on place loses effect when someone in the photo cries foul. 
• License Plates - Blur numbers as a courtesy
• Name Badges
• Logos - Did you know  presenting photographed copyright material can itself infringe on rights? For example a bus advertisement with copyright logos can require permission.  
• Backgrounds - Blur backgrounds or partial backgrounds to draw attention to one part of your photograph.

Some apps allow you to blur with pressure from a fingertip (Touch Blur on Apple) - the more touches, the more blur.  Others like Blur Image Background (Android) can isolate out backgrounds.  Some photo apps have filters as well. You might need to practice to get the blur just right (too much blur can distract from the rest of the photo). As a rule of thumb - when in doubt - blur it out.
